3 sentenced for distributing and possessing heroin

| Jan 3, 2019 | Drug Crimes |

Drug crimes are taken seriously, especially in light of the opioid crisis. When people deal drugs that are known to lead to addiction, there is a high risk that those individuals could be sent to prison.

Three men in Ocala have been sentenced for distributing heroin, according to a news report from Dec. 21. The report states that the men usually completed drug deals in Marion County, where there was a farm with good coverage. The three men will face decade-long prison sentences for their actions.

The federal jury convicted the three men, 41, 41 and 36, for charges of conspiracy to distribute. One, 41, was sentenced to 11 years and four months in prison. The other two men will face 10 years in prison.

The two men who received decade-long sentences were assisting the third, the primary dealer in most transactions. At least one of the men worked at the farm where the drug deals took place, which is unnamed and located along Northwest 100th Street.

This is a unique case since two people will face similar prison sentences for doing lesser crimes than a third. If you’re in a situation where you face charges along with colleagues, friends or family members, this could happen to you, too. It’s important to develop a strong defense for your case because it could mean the difference between being charged and penalized for higher crimes and being punished for lesser crimes.

Your attorney can help you work on a defense and come up with ways to reduce the impact a crime and charges can have on your life. With the right help, it’s possible to make this situation into a positive change.
